Dr. Gonda is a global expert in developing therapies administered by inhalation for the treatment of severe respiratory diseases with over 100 publications in this field and many US and international patents. He was the founder and leader of the Pulmozyme (dornase alfa) aerosol delivery team at Genentech and over the last decade has been intimately involved in the development of ARD-3150, an inhaled liposomal antibiotic treatment for severe chronic infections in bronchiectasis and CF. He has received research funding from government, industry, non-for profit organizations and investors in Australia, UK and US and is the recipient of multiple professional awards.

Professor of Immunology, Department of Immunology and Microbiology California Campus and former Head of Immunology at Scripps Research, and a world-leading expert on innate immunity and host defenses. He recently returned to Scripps faculty full-time after retiring from 5AM Ventures.
